In order to develop your abilities and discover your potential, it is necessary to have techniques and ideas.

First of all, you need papers and a pen to write down your answers as you’ll get some questions.

When you finish answering all questions, you may find the true you.

Self-development – 7 steps to discover your potential

1. Clarify who you want to be

Firstly, write who you want to be?

For example, you may want to be a thoughtful person, a gentle persona, a steady person and so on. Write down specifically and as much as possible what type of person you want to be.

You can write a person you are longing for or you respect. And also write down your reasons why you want to be that person.

2. Write down what you want to contribute to

Secondly, write down what you want to contribute to.

You can express your gratitude to people who has supported you, such as people in a club you belonged to in your high school time or your parents who raise you. You can also contribute to society, such as doing something for people facing starvation or demonstrating your abilities in the field of education.

Write down specifically what you want to do or whom you want to be helpful for.

3. Clarify what you want to get

Next, write down what you want to get.

You might want to get objects, such as a new car and a brand new house. Or you may want to get a skills or social status, like the highest TOEIC score or a new job.

Write down what you want to gain as much as you can and in detail. For example, if you want to get a job, write down a company, a start date, classification, salary, work type, condition and so forth.

Then, write down what you want to do.

You may want to study abroad, travel around the world, eat cake as much as you can. You can write down something impossible, such as being taller or flying in the sky. Just write down what you really want to.
