Achieve aim by emotions! 7 ways for future

Achieve your goal with emotions! 7 ways to switch mind for future

When we set a goal, we can’t forget to think about “how to achieve it” as well.

Even a small goal cannot be achieved without thinking of “a method of achievement”, and it would end up as “just a dream”.

However, you may think,

“I know that, but how can I find a method of achievement?”

The important thing is to think things with your emotions. It is not a matter of idealism, but “how to switch emotions” is the nearest shortcut to your achievement.

“I can’t achieve my goals.”

If you have such a problem, it’s better to know “the ways to switch your moods” focusing on “emotions”. You can bring the achievement with your own ability.

So here are the 7 methods.

Achieve aim by emotions! 7 ways for future

1. Speak out loud in a morning

Are you good at getting up early? “The early bird catches the worm” is true.

This saying generally meant “you can use more time by getting up early”, which means “you can make effort more than others”.

However, many people feel gloomy with sleepy faces, thinking “I need to go to work in 30 minutes”.

So in the morning, make yourself speak out loud.

“With loud, cheerful voice!”

You may feel a bit embarrassed, but say positive words aloud as though “you were waiting for the day to come”.

By doing so, your spirit raises somehow. Stretch your arms in bed, yawn, and say “what a wonderful morning” with a smile on your face. As you say it, you will really feel so.

This is recommended especially to people living on their own. They have no one to talk to in a morning, so most of them don’t say anything until they are at work.

By saying out loud, gloomy feeling of morning, especially if you live a single life, improves. The effect may vary from people, but it is a rare to feel “no change at all”.

Unless you have a bad health condition, “speak out loud in a morning” can refresh your feeling.

You can start a day with “good mood”, so the efficiency of working in a morning improves, effective to achieve your goal as well.

2. Let in a sunlight in your room

What do you do first in the morning?

“Go to a bathroom!”

“Drink a glass of water!”

“Wash my face!”

There are many things to do, but the first thing I want you to do is to open the curtain.

In a survey by a private organization showed a result that “many young people don’t open the curtain when they awake in a morning”.

We have an internal body clock. The body tells the time and tells to a brain “to get up in a morning”, “to get sleepy in the afternoon”, or “to sleep at night”.

This body clock is moving with a cycle of “25 hours”. On the other hand, the world we live in is 24 hours a day, which means there is “a 1 hour gap” between actual world and a body clock.

Therefore the gap should be adjusted at some point, or otherwise the gap becomes greater and a body clock will eventually lose its rhythm.

How can we adjust it? It is sunlight at awakening.

By absorbing the sun at awakening, a body clock is reset as it recognizes a morning.

As a result, a body clock gives a signal to a brain to tell “a day has started”, and you can feel the new day has started.

Suppose the gap is not adjusted correctly. For example, what if you wake up in a morning but your body clock is still at night? Your body clock releases a signal to “go to bed because it’s night”. As a result, you can’t feel refreshed even though you are awake in the morning.

You need to go to work with depressed feeling, and of course, efficiency of your work is dull.

In such situation, you are most likely to leave things unfinished, and it is difficult to achieve your goal.

So please open the curtain as you wake up and absorb sunlight. Reset your body clock and feel the beginning of the new day.

3. “Can you see a floor?”

Is your room organized, or a mess? This is more of a “psychological effect” rather than “to switch emotions”.

You should have things you need in your room, such as a desk, a bed, or a book shelf.

Now, look around your room.

“How much of the floor can you see compared to the size of the room?”

I want you to check this. In recent years, middle-class people are decreasing among students and working people. This means those who can achieve their goals and those who can’t are divided in two extremes.

And as you take a look at them, rooms of those who continue to achieve have “more floor visible”.

In other words, rooms of successful people are simple rooms or rooms organized with limited amount of things.

Now, please recall your room again.

-the floor is covered with clothes you took off

-magazines are carelessly left on the floor (and you can’t see the floor)

-dust is piled up at the corner of the room and the floor is covered

Aren’t you familiar with these situations? Is so, please clean and organize your room. Try to increase the area of the floor you can see. You can increase the possibility of achieving a goal by doing so.

By the way, what is the relationship between the area of the visible floor and the possibility of achieving a goal?

There are many opinions about it, and the best opinion is that “more floor visible = the room feels bigger = you won’t curl up in the room”.

With only a small floor visible, your room seems smaller. You need to live with a limited amount of space such as “just on a bed”.

As a result, “what you can do in the room” is limited and it will limit your effort of studying or other things.

A spacious looking room expands a range of activity and results in making effort and achieving a goal.

Please pay attention to “the area of visible floor”, and expand your action in the room as much as possible.

4. Check corporative mailbox

Besides you have your own isolated house or you are living with your parents in an isolated house, many people are living alone in apartments.

In apartment buildings, there are usually “corporative mailbox” and “personal mail box”. If so, do you frequently check “corporative mailbox”?

I think most of you are not. Many people check their personal mailbox at their rooms, but not for corporative mailbox, maybe once a week.

This is “inhibiting you from collecting useful information”. Corporative mailbox might be filled with advertisement, but what is put there is “the latest information”.

For example, a flyer of home-delivered pizza was in a corporative mailbox. This is nothing special or even “unnecessary information” for people not interested in pizza.

However, to consider it as “unnecessary information” is an important part in collecting information.

To achieve a goal, you need to collect many kinds of information. By frequently checking and thinking “is this needed to achieve my goal?” “I don’t need this” and determine the priority, you can get truly valuable information for you.

“Sorting of information”

is very important to achieve your goal. By sorting “what is important or not”, you can see what is really needed for you now. As a result, you can see necessary information and what you need to do to achieve your goal.

On the other hand, if you don’t check corporative mailbox because it is always just ads, you are not sorting information everyday.

It makes a big difference. Suppose there are “two boxes” in front of you. One is with useful information for you, and the other is empty.

You can look for the correct box, but you can also “detect wrong box and open the correct one”. It is a method of elimination, and to find the correct answer it is important to “eliminate” unnecessary information.

If you continue to sort information everyday, such as to check corporative mailbox, it will leads to your success.

5. Disadvantage is a chance

Imagine a following situation.

The company you are working for is acquired by an American company, and the official company language became English. You would face disadvantage.

If you are in such situation, how would you react?

Successful people take this “disadvantage” as a “chance”. Let me explain in detail.

Suppose you are “ordered” to take a TOEIC exam. It is becoming popular recently. It may affect your career if you can’t get certain score.

Of course, employees start studying, but would fail if you study half-hearted. Therefore, I can imagine that many people would give up.

If you are not good at achieving a goal, you would feel at ease by comparing yourself to others. For example, “you don’t want to study, so you don’t”, but feel worried. Of course, because you are not studying. But you talk to your colleagues next day and hear,

“I’m not studying either.”

“I took a test before but it was not good at all.”

Then you forget your worries. Instead, your “worry of not studying” changes to “sense of secure you don’t need to study”. Your “motivation” and “hurdle” suddenly decrease.

It is impossible to make a success with such motivation. You can’t set a high goal for yourself and therefore you are not motivated to achieve it.

On a contrary, successful people think “Many people are not studying…that means few people who study can stand out.”

They know that “good score is an advantage for your career”, but if 100 or 200 people get good scores, you don’t know if you can really progress your career. In other words,

“A share for each person reduces.”

But if many people give up, they can think

“My share will increase.”

As other people would give up, they will be more motivated.

This is a difference between successful and unsuccessful people. Instead of feeling at ease from other people, you need to be motivated from disadvantage of others.

It is not a best example, but there is a joke “if everyone crosses against the red light, then there’s nothing to be afraid of”. It means your mischief won’t stand out because everyone is doing it.

On the other hand, successful people think “if it is a red light, wait alone for a blue”. It is not surprising. If you are standing alone while others continue walking, everyone would look at “a person standing alone”. It stands out, but you are doing a right thing.

By acting in a way you believe, you can stand in a superior position.

So instead of following others and do same things, take it as a big chance when no one is doing it.

6. Make intermediary points

Suppose you need to get a license of real estate transaction specialist immediately, but you have worked in a field not related to real-estate. It means, you need to “start studying from nothing” to get a license.

Your goal is a very high hurdle. Normally, a goal should be set low and you should feel a sense of achievement frequently. But sometimes there is a time you need to face very difficult goals.

If so, try to make “intermediary points” as many as possible.

Taking an example above, the hurdle is very high for you to start studying from nothing.

However if you take a close look at an exam of real-estate and building, it is divided into 7 parts such as “characteristics and structures of lands and housings”, “laws for the right of land and housings” and so on.

You need to know all 7 parts, but it means “you can make 7 intermediary points”.

Instead of studying entire sections at once, select one at a time and concentrate on it. When trying past exams, just do that section only.

In this way, you can make 7 intermediary points, take a rest every time, and plan for next step.

Also, it is effective to “concentrate on memorizing technical terms first” to prepare for studying. You can increase the efficiency of studying by learning technical terms, so it is worth doing.

By the way, you would see many “distinct Japanese expressions” when studying for real estate transaction specialist.

They are very much written in “official document way” that even Japanese people find them difficult to understand.

But you can’t avoid them. When facing such complicated sentences and words, you can replace them with simpler and easier words.

“To get use to the way questions are written” can be another goal to do. In any ways, you can set up several intermediary points and the way to achieve a goal seems easier for you.

7. Understand the meaning of doing things

Here is a story.

It is a true story happened in prison. Many psychological experiments were done with human in old days.

One day, a prisoner was called to a garden by an officer.

He was given a shovel and told,

“Dig a hole here and pile up dirt there.”

A prisoner was ordered to dig a hole and pile up dirt from that hole to few meters away. He couldn’t understand why, but followed an order anyway.

After a while, a hole became about 1 meter deep. Then an officer said,

“OK, fill the hole with that piled dirt, and dig a new hole to where the dirt was.”

A prisoner couldn’t understand, but did as he was told.

After he dug a new hole about 1 meter deep, he was told to fill it and dig a new hole again.

After repeating this for several hours, a prisoner suddenly went into confusion and panic. This was a psychological experiment.

The purpose was to know “what happens to person if he repeats certain thing without understanding its purpose”.

A prisoner was ordered to dig a hole without any purpose, or no reason to make a pile of dirt either. It was an experiment to see relationship between “continuation of certain action” and “mentality of a human”.

As written above, it caused a bad effect on human’s mentality to “keep doing things without knowing its purpose”.

It is difficult for us to continue things without understanding the meaning.

You are not in a prison and you are free. You won’t be ordered by an officer. However, you have a risk of “getting tired and bored, and result in giving up” when you do a certain thing without any meaning.

If you want to achieve a goal, you need to think and understand the meaning of what you do.

It’s no use to just make an effort without understanding its meaning and value. As written above, “act without meaning” has bad effect on our mentality.

It is important to “continue” to achieve a goal, and to understand “why you do it” is indispensable for continuing your effort.
